Quick Tip - STOP Doing This Girlie Exercise
By: - The Muscle Nerd - Jeff Anderson
Ok fair warning...I'm about to go postal on some of
you here!
One of the most recent trends in the gym has been performing
exercises such as the Dumbbell Flye and Dumbbell Press while laying
back on an Exer-Ball.
Why has this become so popular?
Well, studies show that when you're lying on an "instable" surface
such as the giant rubber ball, you call in more "stabilizer
muscles" to help keep you balanced.
This is supposed to work your "core" better and help stimulate more
muscle fibers.
Well, next to seeing you wear black socks in the gym and blow
drying your gonads in the locker room, exercising on an Exer-Ball
is probably my biggest pet peeve if you're training to BUILD MUSCLE!
Without "stability", you fail to properly activate and overload
your PRIME "MOVER" MUSCLES for these exercises, your pectorals,
which is what you're REALLY trying to do.
If your goal is MASS BUILDING and you're using a program like my
"Advanced Mass Building" system
( http://www.AdvancedMassBuilding.com ), then stay away from these
foo-fooey exercises (no matter WHAT your personal trainer says!).
So get your back on a bench and push some real weight...or bring a
skirt to the gym next time!
