The results of a twenty year research study recently showed the value of keeping muscles strong. While we all know that aerobics are cardio protective and reduce the risk of heart attack and heart related sudden death, the protective value of muscle strength now deserves our interest and attention.
Researchers studied 8,762 men, comparing the strongest to the weakest 1/3 of them. All participants were repeatedly evaluated in the 1980痴 and then again 20 years later. More strength was shown to reduce the risk of death from all causes by 32%. Greater strength reduced the risk of death from heart attack by 50% and cancer by 32 %. Need a stronger lift?
